along the basics of good shooting. Lessons are available at no charge and
can be conducted in a small group or if you choose you can also have a
private lesson.
Our practice area also features a computerized Lincoln electronic trap
thrower. Here is your chance to practice over 60 different target
configurations without taking a single step. This is a great way to improve
your shooting or just have fun.
Super Range
Imagine placing a bullet in a 36 inch circle a mile away!
Starting this fall ScatterGun Guests will have the opportunity to do
exactly that. Now under construction, our brand new SUPER RANGE will give
our guests the opportunity to fire the world's most acclaimed sniper rifle,
the Barrett 50 Caliber. Developed during WWII the BMG .50 was a legendary
machine gun round.
In 2002 Corporal Rob Furlong of the Canadian Forces fired his .50 cal at
an insurgent at the unbelievable range of 2430 meters-7973 feet or just over
1 1/2 miles. It is the absolute record for the longest sniper kill in
history.
Under the watchful eye of our professional guide staff guests will be
challenged with both 1/2 and a full one mile target.
The SUPER RANGE will feature state of the art electronics that will allow
guests the opportunity to actually view a 40 inch monitor and watch the
bullet when it strikes the target.
We are very excited to offer this rare and unique shooting opportunity to
our guests at ScatterGun in 2011.
The standard 30:06 cartridge (bottom) produces 2000 to 3000 foot pounds
of energy. The .50 caliber produces from 10,000 to 20,000 foot pounds of
energy! WOW!
